Stronghold Martial Arts :  Defensive Concepts, Martial Arts,  and Seminars for Everyone
Serious Defensive Concepts for Serious Clients
/It sure seems to be a different world today than when we were kids. I know that I certainly feel that way, and this leads me to wonder what our children will be saying about the "good old days." It seems, though, that the "good old days" are what we make them, and the purpose of Stronghold Consulting is to make them safer for EVERYONE. Therefore, we offer a catalog of classes designed for different types of people, different needs, and different environments. Please browse through the courses below to see if there is one that meets your needs. We are always willing to talk with you about your needs, and if necessary, tailor a class specifically to your needs and concerns.

Potential Attack Response Training: PART

Traditional self-defense style courses teach useful information, providing students with information about awareness and different physical maneuvers that may be useful against an attacker. These classes can be as short as a few hours, or can last as long as an entire college semester. Potential Attack Response Training is a different type of self-defense class. PART is a course designed for businesses interested in training their employees, for everyday people with no training at all, or for professionals with years of training. A half day course, PART covers not only the need for awareness, but HOW to be be aware. PART allows each person to determine their STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE in self defense, and allows them to understand the objective of different kinds of predators. PART addresses specific tactics that can be used by any person to avoid conflict, and discusses the legal ramifications of self-defense. PART addresses real-life self defense techniques that are proven to be effective, and almost never forgotten by anyone! Most importantly, PART is not about fighting. It is about not fighting. It has always been our goal that anyone, regardless of level of training, is able to learn something new in PART. PART is a 4 hour class. It can be broken into 3 one and a half hour segments. ¨ PART may not be suitable for children under 12 years of age. Some of the material can be graphic. ¨ PART only requires a pencil. There is no physical aspect to the class, and business OR casual attire is appropriate. Food is welcome. ¨ PART is suitable for ANY student over the age of twelve, regardless of physical condition, previous training, or lack of training.

Elements of Combat:  EOC

Elements of Combat is a course designed for people who have completed PART, or have some sort of training, whether in Firearm Safety, Martial Arts, or Self Defense.  While the instructors for these types of students concentrate on how to fight, EOC concentrates on how a fight happens.  We delve into the anatomy of a fight, how it starts, escalates, happens and concludes.  We talk about how violence occurs and why.   We explore different ways to tell when an opponent is about to become violent.  We discuss the types of techniques that have statistically been the most effective in real fights, and work to dispel traditional myths and misconceptions.  Finally, we consider police reaction, how to respond to questioning, and the legal ramifications of fighting.  It is not enough to know HOW to fight, by WHEN and WHY.  EOC is approximately 2 hours long, and is a lecture-style class.  There is no fighting or physical interaction involved.

Mass Attack

Mass Attack is designed specifically for Martial Art and other trained students.  In this course, we train to deal with more than one opponent in a bona fide combat situation.  Many students don't understand the difference between strategy and tactics, don't understand what their strategic objective should be in real combat, and their only methodology for dealing with more than one opponent comes from the movies.  In Mass Attack we teach these concepts, as well as seven basic tactics for dealing with multiple opponents.  Mass Attack is a fighter's class, but has been taught to security and police personnel with excellent success.  Mass Attack is approximately 2 hours long, and is a physical class.  Bring your sparring gear or padding!

Freestyle Self Defense

This is one of the most enjoyable and free wheeling courses we offer.  In this class, we explore the fighting skills available at different schools and classes, and help those practitioners look at their techniques in a different way.  Designed solely for combat and self defense, in this class we offer students an opportunity to see how their chosen art works in self defense against opponents who are truly ruthless, realize any weaknesses they may have, and to improve on their strengths.  Students are put up against lines of opponents who attack in different ways, without warning, and without telling the student what they will face.  We explore different ways to use clothing and accessories as weapons.  This class is perfect for anyone, but has also seen great success with more sport based schools such as Muay Thai Kickboxing and Boxing.  This class is approximately 2 hours long, and requires physical interaction.  A mouthpiece and groin cup is required.

A Property Manager's Guide to Personal Security

This course is perfect for the busy professional working in the Apartment Management, Real Estate, or Real Estate Inspection field.  It can be very frightening to show a house, an apartment, or to enter the home of a perfect stranger, and the smart professional does so with a plan.  In this course we explore ways to evaluate tenants, prepare the property for showing, safely show the property, escape during a time of conflict, set up a "life-line," and handle an irate tenant if they should come to the Property Management Office.  We know that these situations are few and far between, and we further recognize that irate and angry tenants are valued customers and deserve to be treated with respect. We also understand that dealing with these customers in a calm and constructive manner is the ultimate goal. This class is designed to assist professionals in meeting high standards of customer service, while remaining safe in their work environment. This is purely a lecture style class, approximately 2 to 3 hours long.  It can be taught in a class room setting or on site for up to 5 students at a time.
